Why Was It Cancelled? After ABC failed in the family friendly Thursday 8 PM EST timeslot in the Fall of 2012 with the arc-heavy, adult drama series Last Resort, they made the brilliant decision to go with another arc-heavy, adult drama series in that hour at mid-season. Not surprisingly, Zero Hour failed miserably. It didn’t help that fans and critics complained that the show was convoluted and derivative, but scheduling was definitely a major factor working against it. After only a handful of episodes aired, ABC shuffled it to a Summer burn-off run. And since so few people had tuned in to begin with, there was not much of a fuss over its cancellation.
