Why Was It Cancelled? This series was intended to run for multiple seasons unlike other entries from Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy like The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass which were close-ended. The Midnight Club posted decent viewership in its first season, rising as high as Number 3 in the Netflix Top 10 during its second week with just under fifty million hours viewed. But it only remained in the charts for three weeks which is less than what the streamer prefers for its originals and it was cancelled after one season. Flanagan expressed his disappointment with Netflix for cancelling the show in a recent blog post and he also revealed what would have happened in the second season. There is no word on whether they will try to get the property moved to Prime Video, but Netflix likely holds the rights for a minimum of two years. A Call to Action from fans on the social networks may help get the show moved to a new venue.
