Status: Director/executive producer Robert Rodriguez had indicated early on that there was a good chance this one could return for a second season, but he said that would depend on how many people tune in. But one year after the show premiered there was no word on a second season and no mention of it when Disney teased other upcoming and returning Star Wars projects. It appears that the second season will not happen, but Boba Fett could show up in future seasons of The Mandalorian or other shows in the franchise. And at the Star Wars Celebration in 2023, it was announced that Dave Filoni will direct an upcoming movie that will tie up the interconnected stories running through The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka, so that should provide some resolution.
