Why Did It End? This series pulled decent ratings in its first season, but saw those drop notably in its second year. But it still performed well in delayed and digital viewing, and NBC gave it the greenlight for a shortened third season that would be its last. That essentially give it a binge-worthy run similar to what we have been seeing from the streaming services. Showrunner David Appelbaum has indicated that he would be interested in continuing the story with a spin-off that would “take some of the core cast members and a brand new cast, and put them into a new adventure in 10,000 BC”. There is no indication that is in the works at this point, but if fans make enough noise on the social networks, maybe the story that started with La Brea could continue.
