8 thoughts on “Sci Fi TV Premieres

  1. The June dates are a mess, because you are relying on bad sites collated by algorithms and AI for information.

Both “The Lazarus Project” and “Orphan Black: Echoes” are incorrectly listed as starting 2nd in June seasons above when they are not. There are faulty reports on the web based on the actual “Lazarus” release date in June of *last* year – and on a mistaken June 23, *2023* “Orphan Black: Echoes” release date that was mistaken – it wasn’t actually released until November 2023.

    1. The release dates on the schedule are for their premieres in the U.S. Both shows previously aired already overseas.

  2. P.S.: I did put several paragraph breaks in my text above when I entered it. Something is wrong with the text formatting function of your comment system.

  3. Several of these links are broken (at least Outer Range, Kite Man, and The Legend of Vox Machina).

And by the way, the creators of The Legend of Vox Machina already got funding and a season order from Amazon to produce another animated series in a similar style and set in the same world; working title “Mighty Nein”. They’ve been working on it for a year or so, but there’s no release date yet, since these high-quality animated series need about 3 years production run-up, even if you do have a storyline and the main cast all ready to go.
That’s probably also what’s holding up season 3 of Vox Machina, even though the series was reportedly not under strike from the writers (animation writers are in a different union) or SAG-Aftra (as far as I’ve heard, the specific voice actor contract used by animated series on streaming services was exempt from the strike). Season 1 and 2 had been produced in one go starting in 2019, at least as far as the script-writing, voice-recording, and character design / art direction / background painting was concerned, and apparently the actual animation for one season could be done within a year. But season 3 only got funding after season 1 had aired, and evidently 2 years weren’t enough time to produce that season almost from scratch, especially if they have the same artists doing the character designs and art direction for the Mighty Nein series, which seems likely. (The art director and main background painter of the Vox Machina series is a superfan of the actual-play RPG webshow that these animated series were adapted from, which is why the Vox Machina series has such a ‘labor of love’ look to it.)

    1. The links to Outer Range and Legend of Vox Machina have been fixed, thanks for the heads up. There is not a page for Kite Man yet because there is not enough info on the show. But I am working on pulling that together now.
