Sci Fi TV Highlights: A look at the upcoming schedule of sci fi and fantasy shows as well as recent news and/or trailers of note.
Sci Fi TV Premieres:
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (Netflix): When human sailors are attacked by mysterious creatures of the deep, only one person can stop the war between land and sea: the Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. Premieres on Tuesday.
Schedule Notes:
Turns out that the Hulu series Paradise is a sci fi entry even though it wasn’t advertised as such (it delivers a pretty big twist at the end of the first episode), and I have now added that one to the listings. On Sunday, FOX’s animated fantasy comedy Krapopolis returns from hiatus with new episodes. Below are the full listings for the current week, and you can see all of the premieres for February and beyond at this link. The two-week view of the schedule is available here.

A Buffy the Vampire Slayer revival/sequel series is in the works at Hulu and Sarah Michelle Gellar is in talks to return in a recurring role. She will also be executive producing and Joss Whedon is not involved at this point. You can read more at this link.
Peacock announced that its supernatural drama Hysteria! will not be coming back for a second season which means that both of its Fall genre entries have been cut short after Teacup was cancelled a few weeks ago.
In casting news, Mark Strong (Kingsman: The Secret Service) will be coming aboard the Apple TV+ production of Neuromancer in the role of Armitage. And Rhys Ifans (House of the Dragon) has signed on to the lead role of the For All Mankind spin-off series Star City.
In production news, work has finally started on the second season of Disney+’s Star Wars series Ahsoka. And filming has wrapped on the second season of Netflix’s One Piece which should have it on track to premiere at some point in 2025. Filming has begun for House of the Dragon Season 3 which could have it headed for a late 2025 or early 2026 premiere.
