Cancellation Watch: Ghosts Will Likely Continue to a Fifth Season, Terminator Zero Is Waiting for Renewal, and More

Cancellation Watch: Status updates for the sci fi and fantasy shows on the broadcast networks, cable channels, and streaming services as well as breaking news on the currently airing, returning, and upcoming genre entries.

Status Updates

Ghosts (CBS, Status: Renewal Possible): The numbers for this supernatural comedy have slipped some in its fourth season, but it is still performing relatively well for a CBS series. And the overnight ratings for this one are not as important now seeing as it is in the syndication stretch. The network will almost certainly want this one to get to at least the 100 ep threshold, so expect it to stick around for at least a fifth season if not more.

Terminator Zero (Netflix, Status: Renewal Possible): There has still been no word on a second season of this animated series. It did not make it into the Netflix Top 10, but that is not uncommon with animated entries. Showrunner Matt Tomlin does have plans for a second season and this is part of a known franchise, so it could continue. But fans may want to make some noise to bring it more attention.

Tales from the Void (ScreamBox, Status: Renewal Possible): This horror anthology runs on the ScreamBox streaming service which is not tracked by the Nielsen Streaming Rankings, so there are no viewership numbers available for the show. But as a new streamer, they will likely want to support their originals, so this one has a chance of returning for a second season.

  1. You already took away my one favorite show So Help Me Todd. Everybody I talked tolo ed that show. Mom & son really had magic together. You really messed up when you canceled that show. So don’t drop the ball again & cancel my next loved shows Ghosts is #1favorite #2 favorite Georgie & Mandy’s 1st Marrage & #3 is Matlock. I’m always glad for Thursdays cz all 3 are on that night.. Plz don’t ruin my Thursday nights. I look so forward to Thursday. I like Elsbeth too. You really should take a poll from normal ppl. I think you would a much different result on cancelations.

  2. Ghosts is still making me laugh. I like that Jay finally got to see the ghosts and now has an idea of which one he’s interacting with. Nancy is stealing the show lately, and I liked when Sam saw his grown up daughter.
