Sci Fi TV News of Note:

Production has finally begun on the television adaptation of Neuromancer at Apple TV+. A ten-episode series is planned to adapt the book, and there is no word at this time on whether the show could carry on beyond the source material into additional seasons. You can read more about that one at this link.

Sarah Michelle Gellar has opened up the possibility of going back to the Buffy The Vampire Slayer franchise.  While previously she showed no interest in returning to one of her seminal roles, she recently made the following statement on the Drew Barrymore Show:

It’s funny, I always used to say no, because it’s in its bubble and it’s so perfect. But watching Sex and the City and seeing Dexter, and realizing there are ways to do it, definitely does get your mind thinking, ‘Well, maybe.

A revival is not currently in the works (and the planned reboot was scrapped), but it is nice to know that Gellar could be onboard if they brought the property back.

In casting news, The Expanse veteran Shohreh Aghdashloo will be joining Amazon’s The Wheel of Time in its third season in the role of the Aes Sedai named Elaida do Avriny a’Roihan. And over at HBO, Aaron Pierre (Krypton) will be stepping in to the role of John Stewart in the upcoming Lanterns live-action series.

According to Production Weekly development/production has started on Warhammer 40k (Amazon), One Piece Season 3, and Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. You can read more about those at this link.
