Blake’s 7, the classic dark and gritty British space opera that could count as one of the greatest sci fi TV shows of all time, has finally received a home video release in the United States. This cult-favorite ran for four seasons on the BBC from 1978-81 (and later aired in the States on PBS) and was issued on PAL DVD in the past, but never received the Blu-ray treatment. Now, a set collecting the newly remastered first season is available which includes alternate versions of the episodes with updated special effects.   1. $40 for 13 restored episodes WITH newly created SFX and a ton of extras? That seems like an absolute bargain to me!

    1. Everyone has their own sense of value – I get it. Having just got several complete series boxed set for under $50 (including the Expanse) though leaves me less inclined to get it right away. Let’s see how the market adjusts the price…

  2. I love Blake’s 7 ….but $40 for only the first season? That’s what I would’ve expected for the complete series. Sorry but no thanks.

    1. It is a little pricey, but it doesn’t surprise me because it has not been available previously in the States. Wait a few months and the price should drop.
