Sci Fi TV News of Note:

A television adaptation of Alan Moore’s The Great When is in the works from Playground Productions. Deadline gives the following description of the project:

Amidst the smog of post-WWII London emerges Dennis Knuckleyard, a young clerk employed by a second-hand bookshop. One day, on an errand to acquire books for sale, Dennis comes into the possession of a novel that simply does not exist. It is a fictitious book from the Great When, a nightmarish, imaginary realm that is the supernatural counterpart to the city Dennis calls home. Dennis has to return the book or get killed. Soon he finds himself at the center of an explosive series of events, navigating a new realm of criminals, artists and occult figures that puts his life at risk and may alter and endanger both Londons forever . . .

Moore, who has been notoriously critical of adaptations of his works, has said “For the first time in my career, I’m genuinely excited and enthusiastic about a work of mine…one that I own, and believe could work marvelously in a different medium…being adapted for the screen”. The Great When is the first of a planned five-book series referred to as Long London, and the television version will be a tentpole, multi-season event series. No network or streaming service is attached yet, but the series should draw plenty of interest.

Resident Alien Season 4 has begun filming with series star Alan Tudyk stepping in to direct some of the episodes. The show will be moving from Syfy to USA for its fourth year.

Amazon has announced March 13th as the premiere date for Season 3 of The Wheel of Time. You can see the teaser for that below.

The HBO Harry Potter TV series has begun production, but the planned premiere for that has been pushed from 2026 to 2027 according to an announcement from the Max Twitter feed. Other shows that have started development/production according to Production Weekly are The Orville Season 4, Agatha All Along Season 2, and Alien: Earth Season 2. You can read more about those at this link.
