Sci Fi TV Highlights: Premieres for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew and Creature Commandos, Series Finale for Superman & Lois, and More

Sci Fi TV Highlights: A look at the upcoming schedule of sci fi and fantasy shows as well as recent news and/or trailers of note.

Sci Fi TV Premieres:

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew (Disney+): Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Disney+. Premieres on Monday.

Creature Commandos (Max): Following the events of the first season of Peacemaker, Amanda Waller is no longer able to put human lives in jeopardy for her clandestine operations as she did with the Suicide Squad and Team Peacemaker. Instead, she assembles a black ops team of monsters called the Creature Commandos. Premieres on Thursday.

Schedule Notes:

The premiere for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was originally scheduled for December 3rd, but that has been moved to 6 PM EST on Monday December 2nd. Wrapping up this week is Superman & Lois which will have its series finale on Monday. That will also act as the end of the Arrow-verse as there are no more shows ongoing or planned in that DC continuum. The horror anthology series The Creep Tapes premiered on Shudder and AMC+ November 14th with very little notice. I have updated the listing to include that one. Below are the full listings for the current week, and you can see all of the premieres for December and beyond at this link. The two-week view of the schedule is available here.

Sci Fi TV News of Note:

Season 2 of Severance has its premiere on Apple TV+ on January 17th, and ahead of that a new podcast will have its bow on January 2nd led by Adam Scott and Ben Stiller.   That will provide analysis and weekly insights from the show’s star and director, and it will kick off with two episodes.  After that, it will release new eps on Fridays through the show’s second season. Guests on the podcast will include Severance creator Dan Erickson, executive producer Jackie Cohn, and stars Zach Cherry, John Turturro, and Britt Lower.

Babylon 5 is now streaming on Prime Video as of December 1st.  It is also still streaming for free (with ads) on the Roku Channel and Tubi TV, but it may be moving on from those before too long.
