Sci Fi TV News of Note:
A Mass Effect TV series is in the works at Amazon MGM studios based on the video game series about a distant future when humanity and several alien civilizations have colonized the galaxy using technology left behind by advanced early civilizations. The are no details about the series at this point, but Daniel Casey (F9: The Fast Saga) has been attached as the head writer. Amazon has been attempting to develop a movie or TV series adaptation of this property for a while, and it may take a year or so before the show makes it to the small screen.
Scavengers Reign co-creator Joe Bennett has confirmed that the series will not have a second season on Netflix. That show originally premiered on Max and was cancelled by that streamer, but then it moved to Netflix for an encore run. There were hopes that it would continue to a second season there, but that will not be happening. However, Bennett has indicated that they will pitch a second season to other venues.
In scheduling news, Disney+’s Andor has received a premiere date of April 22, 2025 for its second season.
