We have been seeing quite a number of cancellations the past few years as Peak TV appears to be coming to an end and Peak Caution is taking hold of the linear networks and streaming services (more on that at this link). I ran a poll a couple of months back giving people the chance to vote for shows from the 2023-24 season (as well as a few stragglers from prior years) that had been cancelled or that had not received a renewal yet. Now it is time for the annual cancelled “all-star” poll which includes cancelled shows from the past few seasons that fans have tried to save. This includes the top-voted posts from our prior poll plus other shows that have received notable votes in the past.
Note that “winning” in this poll is not about which show gets the most votes. Last Summer, Wynonna Earp got over 14K votes while Lockwood & Co got just below that and both were big winners. That was a huge outpouring of support for both shows, and that was shared with their networks and other venues that may consider picking them up. Perhaps this time around we will have four or five shows that draw that many votes, and all will count as winners because these numbers will be on full display and will prove that many people want them back.
This list includes shows that have been cancelled in the last three to four years (or in the case of The Orville, a show that is in limbo), and I will also consider adding other shows that were cancelled relatively recently if they get enough nominations in the comments. If there are at least five separate nominations in comments or at our Twitter Site, they will get added. Note that I have added Warrior Nun to the list even though it appeared to be saved last year, and that is because the “revival” did not turn out to be what fans expected and I’m not sure it is still moving forward (more on that at this link).
In recent years we have seen shows saved like Manifest, The Expanse, Lucifer, and Timeless (even if just briefly) by support from fans. So maybe one or more of the entries on this list will be the next to continue on to a new season after getting cancelled.
