Vote to Save Superman & Lois, Quantum Leap, Scavengers Reign, Star Trek: Lower Decks, The Orville, and More

Superman & Lois and the Arrow-verse cancelled by The CW.

We are approaching the 2024 Upfronts when the broadcast networks and several of the major streaming services announce their lineups for the upcoming season. There have already been quite a number of renewal and cancellation announcements over the last few weeks, and I expect plenty more as we head to mid-May when the biggest Upfront presentations occur. Following are the dates for several of the major players:

May 13, 9:00 AM – NBCUniversal

May 13, 3:00 PM – Fox Television

May 14, 9:00 AM – Amazon

May 14, 3:00 PM – Walt Disney

May 15, 9:00 AM – Warner Bros. Discovery

May 15, 1:00 PM – Netflix (Day 1)

May 15, 5:00 PM – YouTube

May 16, 1:00 PM – Netflix (Day 2)

(CBS/Paramount currently has no Upfront planned for 2024, though they should still unveil a preliminary 2024-25 schedule around that time.)

Not all cancellations and renewals will be announced by the time these providers have their presentations, but expect to hear the fate of many shows by that point. And this is where fans can make some noise and let these venues know by the time of the Upfronts what sci fi and fantasy shows should continue.

Below is a list of genre shows that have been cancelled or have ended this season along with all of the current shows that have not received a renewal or cancellation announcement yet. (You can see a rundown of all the cancelled, ending, and bubble shows from the 2023-24 season at this link.) This also includes some shows from the past season that have been cancelled but are still airing (Star Trek: Prodigy) as well as some heading into their final seasons next year (Star Trek: Lower Decks). And this includes shows that will be premiering/returning over the next month. Cast your vote for up to five shows that you believe should continue to another season.

The poll results will be shared with the networks and streaming services, and we have seen cases in the past where shows have been saved by fan support (Lucifer, The Expanse, Manifest). In addition, fans should make a Call to Action on the social networks to help support the shows that they believe should stick around for additional seasons. You can see the status of all the current sci fi and fantasy television shows at our Cancellation Watch Page, and be sure to stay tuned to this site and the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site for breaking news and updates.

Note that shows like Shadow and Bone, Lockwood & Co., Warrior Nun, Fate: The Winx Saga, and Legends of Tomorrow are not included here because they are cancelled shows from past seasons.  Those and more will be appearing in the “Cancelled All-Stars” poll that will go up in June.  The Orville and Star Trek: Prodigy are included here because the former has not been officially cancelled yet and the latter could continue to a third season on Netflix.

100 thoughts on “Vote to Save Superman & Lois, Quantum Leap, Scavengers Reign, Star Trek: Lower Decks, The Orville, and More

  1. NBC screwed up. Quantum Leap was the best show they’ve created in a long time. My favorite shows all seem to be on CBS, but Quantum Leap pulled me over to NBC.

The big NBC screw-up was moving Quantum Leap to Tuesday night to go up against CBS’s “FBI night.” I still watched Quantum Leap, but recorded it on DVR.

  2. Please add Shadow and Bone to the list! We need that continuation as well as a Six of Crows spinoff.

Shadow and Bone continues to mean more to me all the time. I am invested in their world. The characters. I know places on the map and words in their language. I am gripped. It’s in my thoughts all day. It would mean the world to have it considered for votes to be renewed (and created in the case of Six of Crows- and it had such lovely scripts ready!).

It deserves to have the story lines continued. They were leading up to so much and now would be left abandoned. They had so much to do. The characters need it. The fans should have it. And with alterations from the books, a show is the only way to know how this version of events continues and concludes.

This beautiful series is what got me into the world in the first place. It has earned every right to go on and thrive. And it certainly has the devoted fanbase, of which I proudly count myself a part.

    Thank you very much.

    – Bonus points to the incredible sets that bring it to life so realistically. More than a bunch of greenscreen. Such artistic beauty. The costuming fantastic. The actors and writing incredible.

  3. I loved, Quantum Leap, ST Discovery, Superman and Lois. I don’t think the networks should EVER cancel a show without giving final episodes or season to wrap things up. Makes we want to just turn to streaming service.

  4. A lot of great series have been put in this poll. But can you add shadow and bone in it please ( such a wonderful show with so much potential)

      1. At least give quantum leap the chance to wrap things up, and possibly bring Sam Beckett home with them. Then it can be all wrapped up never to be approached again unless they want to start all new. Superman and Lois, one of the best Superman series next to Smallville ever. Don’t cancel it it’s an excellent show!

  5. Great list! You should include Shadow and Bone on Netflix as well. It was cancelled after its 2nd season despite a beautiful production and outstanding talent in the cast, and a spin-off about a gang of criminals going on fantasy heists that had already been written (Six of Crows) was cancelled as well.

  6. I can’t believe Shadow and Bone isn’t on this list. It’s by far the best SFF on screen within the past five years in my opinion!! Star Trek Lower Decks is awesome, so I will vote for that for now. But please add Shadow and Bone here! it really deserves more seasons after that cliffhanger!

  7. Could you please add Shadow & Bone and Six of Crows spinoff to the list?? It would be really awsome.

  8. Please add Shadow and Bone (Netflix) and Six of Crows (spin-off that was already written but cancelled). The petition to renew it has already over 200000 signs. People really want to see it renewed

  9. Please add Shadow and Bone (Netflix) and Six of Crows (possible spin-off that was already written but cancelled). The poll to renew it has over 200000 signs

  10. I think Shadow And Bone (Netflix) should be added to this list. It was an amazing fantasy show, made with a lot of love and passion by all the crew and cast. It’s based on the bestsellers books, Grishaverse series by Leigh Bardugo, and they covered only 1/3 of the stories, there’s so much more to tell, and the best stories were just about to begin – like the Six Of Crows Spinoff – we’ve been excited for the epic Ice Court Heist since the begining. Shadow And Bone was in top10 most searched TVshows on Google of 2023, 15th most watched show on Netflix in first half of 2023, won Golden Tomato Award for Fan Favourite TV series, and was nomineted for an Emmy for Outstanding VFX. Since the cancellation in November fans are relentlessly campaigning to #SaveShadowAndBone and #SixOfCrowsSpinoff, we’ve gathered over 200k signatures on the Change.org petition, and we are trending on X/twitter daily. Please, Save Shadow And Bone and Six Of Crows Spinoff.

  11. PLEASE ADD SHADOW AND BONE TO THIS POLL! The Save Shadow and Bone Fandom has been hard at work to save our shows, Shadow and Bone and Six of Crows. We’ve set up two billboards, one in LA outside the Netflix HQ and one in London, we have 200,000 signatures on our petition, we won the Golden Tomatoes award for Fan Favorite Series of 2023, and we’ve trended daily on Twitter for five months! Help us by putting Shadow and Bone on this poll!

  12. Quantum Leap is by far the best show. It’s not the viewers fault you kept changing its schedule and hardly even promoting it. NBC did that with the original and it’s disgusting. Quantum Leap needs to stay and be properly promoted

    1. Absolutely! Quantum Leap is fantastic.
I loved the origional series. The new series managed to respectfully revisit the premise of the origional, but to bring fresh new twists to keep it always so interesting.

It was the only network drama I really looked forward to each week.

It did well the first year when the network seemed to care about it……but thos year it seemed like the network didn’t want to give it any backing.

There is so much crap on TV right now…..please bring back one of the only intelligent, exciting shows.

    2. I agree 100%, I’ve watched the show from day one even back in the day and I love it please do not cancel this please keep this on for us this is a excellentshow I want to see where Ben goes next and what happens

  13. Quantum leap all the way. I feel Netflix should pick it up for at least 2 seasons. Maybe three close the ending with Sam (Scott Backlia) and give him A production credit Partial control of the scripts. I can see a movie. But I think it will end up becoming an hour and a half netflix made movie. But I think it deserves 2 more seasons. To tie every loose end. Fans have been expecting to find out what happened with Sam Beckett forever!! If the actor that plays Sam Beckett doesn’t want to do it, at least find an actor that would like to step in. Write it away as because of leaping. His face has been distorted and has a little piece of everyone he has leaped into,or some sh$t.

  14. Star Trek : Lower decks is amazing with the witty humor, fun situations and awesome character development! Mariner and her antics make me a huge fan of her, Boimler is hilarious and Tendi is turning out to be a real badass! It would be a shame for The USS Ceretos to end their journey when they are the best Star Trek show so far! You know you have an epic show when you take your cartoon characters and have them transported to a live action series (Strange New Worlds), and you make one of the best episodes ever made! It sucks that big companies cancel shows because they don’t get enough viewing time due to being 20-22 minutes long. They should be looking at how fans respond to a show. They’d have better retention rates if they kept shows that are highly rated by viewers even if fewer people watch it simply because as it stands, people are getting hesitant to watch new shows because there’s a high chance it could get canceled unless it’s either cheap to produce, or is one of the few new shows that the streaming platform it’s on they’ve decided to push as hard as they can in order to force it to become popular.

  15. Superman & Lois is the best show out there! So what that there is a Superman movie coming out in 2025? The Flash was still on the air, when the movie came out! Why can’t this fantastic show stay on the air as well?! It’s called money, people! They want this Superman movie to make lots of money! So Superman & Lois has to be cancelled! Disgusting isn’t it?!

    1. Yep….and screw the movie. I want the series. People are at home more than theaters. Not going to new superman movie. Henry Cavill IS SUPERMAN!!! SCREW JAMES GUNN !!!!

  16. I seriously think quantum leap reboot series should be saved as it’s one of the best shows made so far. Please make season 3?

  17. Shows that need a future:
“The Orville,” Needs to keep the quality and get the reruns out there with some merchandise to get the shows name out there.
“The Nevers,” on HBO Max, what happened to season 2? Totally underated and unadvertised high quality show.
“Dark Matter,” from the “Sci-fi,” channel was from 2014-2016
, and was incredible and left on a friggin cliffhanger…
Shows that I would like to see return / rebooted:
“The Queen of Swords,” from the early 2000’s with Tessie Santiago.
“Black Scorpion,” from the early 2000’s with a more serious tone like the original two “Showtime,” movies. The 60’s Batman / campy theme was tough on the television series.
“Logans Run,” rebooted with a catcher intro theme song, but with the wardrobe updated while retaining its unique style.
Whatever happened to the “Space 1999 (Space 2099), television show they were supposed to be working on, and the reboot of “Buck Roger’s,” in the 25th century reboot?
Lastly, why can’t they get a serious, action, sci-fi show like “Electra Woman ansmd Dyna Girl,” show off the ground? Or, in the very least build a small Saturday morning lineup with the “Kroft
Supershow,’ season three based on the Captain Cool and the Kongs theme? (Rebooted)

  18. Superman & Lois was by far one of the best iterations of Superman on the small screen to date. From the cast to the stories, to the production design, to the cinematography & vfx no other iteration has been as good. Star Wars: Tales & The Bad Batch have also been pretty good in comparison to any other Disney Star Wars show that has aired on TV.

  19. The CW network are stupid idiots always canceling good shows and on top that ten episode I’m talking about budget cuts bull crap they’re just dumb idiots that like to cut up good shows and cancer like they did Gotham knights one season and then cancel it when it was getting good and now Superman and Lois

    1. I agree superman and Lois deserve to be renewed and Gotham knights was criminally underrated it was nothing what poeple said it was. Gotham knights was amazing and should be allowed to continue. If cw was smart they would bring back Gotham knights and renew superman and Lois for 2 more seasons and make Gotham knights a spin off of superman and Lois and have both shows do a crossover for more ratings but no cw wants to be cheap. When superman and Lois ends I’m done with the cw.

  20. Interview with the Vampire was incredibly good! Much better than any of the other adaptations. It should have received award nominations.

  21. Because they get high ratings and are cheaper to produce. It is called show business for a reason.

    1. This poll is focused on the 2023-24 season shows. The only shows from prior seasons that are included are ones that are still airing or their fates have not been decided yet.

    2. Additional note. In Summer we will do a recently cancelled “all stars” poll, and Shadow and Bone will be included on that.

      1. Hi. Would it be possible to add Fate The Winx Saga to the all stars poll? I know it’s been a while since it’s been cancelled but it’s amassed almost 10 000 signatures since the start of the year to save the show

  22. CBS is the worst. They are just trying to line their pockets. They just try to shove the channel with stupid ass game shows.
    Look how long seinfeld lasted.

    1. Game shows & reality TV. Will someone please tell them that the writers strike is over, and they can safely come out of their COVID cocoon. Sheesh…

      1. Those kinds of shows have nothing to do with Covid. Survivor started in 2000. Amazing Race started in 2001. The Bachelor started in 2002. Game shows have been around since the 50s. They are cheaper and faster to produce than scripted shows.

  23. NBC needs to renew Quantum Leap and then act like they want it to get good ratings. They did not promote the show at all during the second half of its season but they expect people to know the day it airs has changed. You rerun other shows, why can’t you repeat Quantum Leap?

    1. Agree… there’s alot of shows out there. We don’t have to watch them at a scheduled time anymore either. I binge watch alot of the shows I watch. There’s a few I watch on the day or near it that we get fed one show a week instead of the full season. But I know I can watch it when I want so if these ratings are only by who watches on the scheduled day, then they are wrong. I’ll binge watch a whole show sometimes before I move on to the next or I bounce around. They also need to play teaser commercials to get people to check out these shows. I just came across quantum leap when I looked up the original and saw a new series. I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as the original but it was. I liked how they let him find a new love while leaping now that his ex is in the simulator with him and can leap together that is going to be an interesting twist and more twist can evolve too. I’m tired of good shows being canceled. The problem is they are creating too many shows instead of focusing on the ones we enjoy.

  24. L star treks, superman and lois, loki, Oroville need to be renewed. Stop canceling great shows you sci-fi killing nazis.

  25. Quantum Leap was doing a great job of following the original.
Spiderwick Chronicles was awesome! It definitely deserves another season!

  26. I would love to see quantum leep saved I really enjoy this show. I think it was a great reboot and would love to see someone pick it up. Fingers 🤞

    1. NBC canceled Quantum Leap without a conclusion again!!!! Now three people are stuck in time. I hope they reverse their decision and bring it back otherwise I’m done with NBC. I’ll never watch that network or any show they air again.

    2. Brother, you are so right. There seems to be a brain-dead social malaise concerning what is truly good and what is over-coated sugary cereal. Gone are the good days, probably forever.

      1. You are so right. Back in the 1980s nearly every show was great. Even shoes that were considered flops were award wining productions compared tontoday. I mean Deal or no Deal Island is the silliest thing I have ever heard of. What’d next American Idol in Space.

    3. Because they get high ratings and are cheaper to produce. It is called show business for a reason.

  27. Save All these great shows the networks have a lot of money invested in number one quorum leap number two all the Star Trek series number three Jackie number four Star wars my thoughts the networks don’t know what they want they would rather make new shows than couple ideas with the shows they already have years ago we all started a letter writing campaign to save the original Star Trek and it worked now it’s time to should save all these great shows and the first one to be saved is quantum leap number two Lois and Clark and number three all these other great shows let’s do it season 3 of quantum leap the network costs of a bunch of money to bring in Scott bakulan

    1. Scott Bakula is not going to be swayed by money to come back to Quantum Leap. They are going to have to write something good for Sam and persuade him. Scott isn’t interested in doing projects just for the money. If he was, he wouldn’t be doing off Broadway musicals (The Connector) and musicals (Man of La Mancha) at regional theaters in New Hampshire.

      1. Please please please add Shadow and Bone to this poll 🙏 It was cancelled by Netflix in November, but there’s a dedicated social media campaign team working really hard to get it back. Adding the show to the poll would be a massive help, and it would be so greatly appreciated

  28. Canceling great shows like these is why we do not want to start watching new series. Keep what you have that works

    1. You do not even have the best SciFi show ever on your list. Please tell Disney+ / Hulu to #RenewTheOrville.

      1. Good catch. That one is in limbo from last season, and I have pretty much counted it as ended. But there is still a chance it could return so I have added it to the poll.

    2. It should only be saved if they bring back the entire cast. If they get rid of half the cast like they announced then it can go.

    1. Superman and Lois has been doing great, the fans including me, loves it.
So, if those out there who actually loves the show, please vote to save it!

  29. Resident Alien
    Chucky
    Quantum Leap

It appears that shows are just cancelled out of no where. Especially those that are getting good ratings. As for the 3 that I listed, I sure do hope that they get renewed. Quantum Leap ended with me thinking that the last episode will pickup next season. It left me kind of hanging. Resident Alien. Oh come on. Thats another that I can’t see go. As for Chucky …. that has definitively has to be renewed. He keeps me laughing with his sarcasm.

      1. Quantum Leap’s ratings were decent in its first season and the first half of its second season. When they moved it to Tuesdays at 10 PM EST in January is when the ratings tanked.

  30. I am 74 years old and it’s the only show that I’ve watched regularly. PLEASE keep it on !!! We have to know when the next chapter will take us.

    1. Not going to return for only a thousand people nor for a million for that matter which is what the ratings were for this show which is why it was canceled.. No one was watching that crap..

      1. A lot of people were watching Quantum Leap on Peacock. NBC didn’t take the streaming numbers into account or people watching in other ways. The metric for people watching shows needs to be updated to include streaming and watching on the network apps.
