Sci Fi TV News:

Lionsgate vice chairman Michael Burns has announced that an animated series based on the Stephanie Meyer Twilight books is in the works. It appears that the series would re-adapt the vampire-centric story that was already covered across five films and grossed over three billion dollars. No casting or creative talent has been attached to the show yet, nor has a network or streaming service been announced. But this property should certainly draw some interest.

Warner Bros. Discovery is shutting down Rooster Teeth after attempts to shop it around did not draw much interest.  That digital production company is known for shows like the long-running Red vs. Blue, RWBY, and Gen: Lock as well as its many podcasts.

Netflix has renewed its live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender through its third season, and it will wrap up at that point.  That will give it a similar run to the animated series.

In casting news, Christian Kane will be reprising his role of Jacob Stone in the upcoming CW series The Librarians: The Next Chapter.  Jessica Green (The Outpost) has been cast in the lead role on the show.

In production news, filming is set to start on Amazon’s Blade Runner: 2099 in April which should put it on track for a 2025 premiere.  According to Jennifer Holland, filming for the long-delayed second season of Peacemaker will start in Summer which means it should arrive at some point in 2025.  And What We Do in the Shadows Star Harvey Guillén has indicated that filming is underway on the final season of the show and they are “almost halfway done”.  That should put it on track for a Fall 2024 debut.

Sci Fi TV Trailers

Fallout (Prime Video): Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which there’s almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind — and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them. Premieres April 11th.
