Sci Fi TV Highlights: A look at the upcoming schedule of sci fi and fantasy shows as well as recent news and/or trailers of note.

Amazon is currently considering a Spanish-language spin-off for The Boys that would be set in Mexico. This would take place in the same universe as the parent show and introduce a new set of heroes. Much of the same production team will be involved, but no further details are available about the project. The streamer has not given the official greenlight yet, but consider this a likely addition to the streamer’s lineup of originals.
The Jim Henson Company is working with Amazon MGM Studios to develop a TV show based on the Faeries books by Brian and Wendy Froud. This family-friendly series will be titled Faerie and following is the official description.
When the Faeries kidnap an unsuspecting father, his family must venture into the Faerie realm to rescue him. Through their journey, they will discover their inner strength and unique potential, challenging the expectations that the human world has put upon them. At its core, Faerie is a story of perseverance and the strength of a family’s love, filled with magic, adventure, and self-discovery at every age.
The Frouds will be onboard as executive producers and Amazon will likely be targeting a late 2024 or early 2025 premiere.
In scheduling news, Amazon has set an April 12th premiere date for its video game-based series Fallout. You can see the trailer for that below.

It is another slow week with no premieres, but the season finale for Syfy’s supernatural series SurrealEstate airs on Wednesday at 10 PM EST. There has been no word on a third year for the show and the ratings for the second season have been on the low side.
