In its second quick renewal of the season, Netflix has given the greenlight to a second season of its animated fantasy/horror series Castlevania: Nocturne. That show is a spin-off of the streamer’s popular Castlevania and it made it into the Netflix Top 10 the week of its premiere at Number 8 with 9.8 million hours viewed across 2.6 million households. Those do not count as breakout numbers, but perhaps they are considered good for an animated entry. That streamer tends to wait several weeks to renew a show to determine if it has the completion rate they are looking for (which tracks how many people watch the full current season). But they were happy enough with the performance of this one to give it a second season after viewing one week’s performance. The live-action adaptation of One Piece also received a quick renewal from Netflix this season. Castlevania: Nocturne‘s showrunners Clive Bradley and Kevin Kolde had the following comments about the show getting renewed:
Thanks to all of the Castlevania fans old and new for the amazing response and support. We are excited to be able to bring you more Castlevania: Nocturne and the next chapter in the rise of Richter Belmont.
