Sci Fi TV Highlights: A look at the upcoming schedule of sci fi and fantasy shows as well as recent news and/or trailers of note.

Sci Fi TV Premieres This Week:

Loki (Disney+): Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes, and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose. Season 2 premieres on Thursday at 9 PM EST.

Quantum Leap (NBC): It’s been nearly 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now, a new team, led by physicist Ben Song (Raymond Lee), has been assembled to restart the project in hope of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it. Everything changes, however, when Ben makes an unauthorized leap into the past, leaving the team behind to solve the mystery of why he did it. Season 2 premieres Wednesday at 8 PM EST.

Surrealestate (Syfy): Real estate agent Luke Roman is the owner of The Roman Agency, a boutique residential real estate brokerage specializing in “metaphysically engaged” properties, also known as haunted houses. Luke has a special connection to the spiritual realm; he can not only sense the presence that might inhabit a client’s house, he can often communicate and negotiate with it. Along with his team, Luke takes on the houses nobody else can or will. Season 2 premieres Wednesday at 10 PM EST.

Chucky (Syfy): In Chucky’s unending thirst for power, season 3 now sees Chucky ensconced with the most powerful family in the world — America’s First Family, inside the infamous walls of the White House. How did Chucky wind up here? What in God’s name does he want? And how can Jake, Devon, and Lexy possibly get to Chucky inside the world’s most secure house, all while balancing the pressures of romantic relationships and growing up? Season 3 premieres Wednesday at 9 PM EST.

Sci Fi TV News

It has been a year since HBO’s Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon premiered, but fans of that show still have to wait a while longer for the second season. It was minimally impacted by the strikes because scripts were already completed before the writers’ strike started and the UK-based shoot is not a SAG-AFTRA production. But Summer 2024 is looking like the soonest that the show will return for its second year . . . David McCallum passed away this past week at the age of 90. He is best known to sci fi and fantasy fans for his co-lead roles in the 1960s spy fi series The Man from UNCLE and the late-70s British series Sapphire and Steel. He also starred in the short-lived shows The Invisible Man (1975) and VR-5 (1995).
