This is a developing story and there is no additional news at this point, but this comes straight from the show’s creator so it should be a reliable source. Source have confirmed to TVLine.com that a shortened third season or a movie is in the works, and Production Weekly is currently showing Season 3 as being in production as of June 29th.
This should come as no surprise seeing as the Warrior Nuns fans have really stepped up with their efforts to get the word out about their show. Plus, this is not one of the mega-budget Netflix originals like Wednesday or The Sandman or The Witcher, so it should be an affordable property for another venue. The main question at this point is if Netflix will release the rights to the show and allow a third season to continue now, or will the streamer still hold onto it until the terms of its original deal lapse (likely a year or two from now). Stay tuned for more information, but this is certainly welcome news to Warrior Nun fans and a positive sign for all those who are fighting to save a cancelled show.
Warrior Nun follows a young woman who discovers that she is part of an ancient order tasked with fighting demons and other supernatural beings on Earth. She also learns that both heaven and hell have an interest in her fate. It stars Alba Baptista, Toya Turner, Thekla Reuten, Lorena Andrea, and Kristina Tonteri-Young and it is based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala by Ben Dunn.
