Better late than never, and after an extended wait, Adult Swim’s animated series Primal has been confirmed for a third season. Announced at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival by series creator Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars) where he claimed that his plans for the upcoming season are “so spectacular”. He also indicated his love for the show, describing it as “a contagious disease that I don’t ever want to cure” and that “every episode flows out like an unstoppable force beyond my control”. The second season ended on a rather final note, and many viewers likely thought Tartakovsky had brought the show to an end. But he does have more ideas in the show’s universe that will carry it into a third season and perhaps more. Primal has achieved critical acclaim, currently holding a 100% Fresh Rating and 94% Audience Score on Rotten Tomatoes. It has also performed well in viewership on Adult Swim and in encore runs on Max (previously HBO Max). It is unclear at this point if any third-season scripts were completed prior to the writers’ strike, so expect 2024 as the soonest that it will make it to the air.

I have a feeling that Unicorn Warriors Eternal is proving to not be that successful. Having tried to watch it myself I find it difficult to maintain interest.
That one has not received a lot of promotion and I completely missed that it had debuted. I love Samurai Jack and Primal, but some of Tartakovsky’s other stuff has been hit or miss for me.
