I’ll put a too long comment here. 😀 I just finished up season 1 of Strange New Worlds. I *like* it!! I’m not a big streaming person, but I had way too many friends telling me how good Picard was, so I finally relented, and watched that one. Fantastic! I liked every season. I am not a “I just want to see The Next Generation” again. I really liked exploring Jean-Luc’s character in and of itself. So then I wanted to continue my fix, and tried Strange New Worlds. Now, I was a big Anson Mount fan from Hell on Wheels, and he doesn’t disappoint here either. In fact, I hold that he was Kirk before Kirk was Kirk. No spoilers, but the last episode of season 1 was quite interesting in that regard. (That’s one of my favorite TOS episodes too!)
One more note though. While watching SNW, I figured out that Pike was actually introduced on Discovery. Now, I had tried to watch Discovery not once, but *twice* before, and it turned me off both times. Not Star Trek! Some kind of new fangled flash-bang story telling/special effects that just immediately turned me off. (Although I do like some of the characters.) So this was the 3rd time. I didn’t waste time trying to watch the episodes I hadn’t watched from the 1st season; I started with episode 1, season 2, when Pike is introduced. I will keep watching for Pike, but that episode reminded me of why I just simply don’t like Discovery. Anyway … Bring on season 2 of Strange New Worlds!! 👍
