A possible Stargate show from Amazon has me sweating in fear – especially after the debacle that I’ve heard their Lord of the Rings show has been. They’re clearly not going to consult Brad Wright so who knows what we’ll get. If only we could let these franchises alone until someone with competence can actually do it. I’ve heard the people that did the Expanse want a crack at it- that’s a glimmer of hope- but it’s one thing to have great source material to adapt and another to come up with original material from scratch. time will tell.
I actually enjoyed The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. It had its flaws, but overall I thought it turned out well. I would love it if the creative team from The Expanse were to work on a new Stargate series.
