Coming as no surprise, the supernatural drama Mayfair Witches has received a second season renewal from AMC. The linear ratings for that show have not been too high so far, but it has made up the slack with digital and delayed viewing in its first month. It currently stands ad the most-watched show on the AMC+ streaming service, ahead of Interview with the Vampire and The Walking Dead Season 11. AMC networks have been going through some shakeups and have cancelled several shows, but both Mayfair Witches and Interview with the Vampire have performed well and are heading into second seasons. Those two comprise the “Immortal Universe” based on the works of Anne Rice and a crossover is planned which will likely happen later this year or early in 2024, though no details on that are available at this time. Interview aired its first season in Fall 2022, and the second season will likely arrive later this year.
The second season announcement for Mayfair Witches brings the renewal count for the current season to 22 (35% of shows tracked) vs. 25 cancelled/ending shows (40%). You can keep up with the Cancellation/Renewal Score through the week at our Cancellation Watch Page.
Mayfair Witches follows a young neurosurgeon who discovers that she is the unlikely heir to a family of witches. She must learn how to control her newfound powers while dealing with a sinister presence that has haunted her family. It stars Alexandra Daddario, Tongayi Chirisa, Jack Huston, and Harry Hamlin and it is based on the Anne Rice books of the same name.
