Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week


The Ark (Syfy): This series takes place 100 years in the future when planetary colonization missions have begun as a necessity to help secure the survival of the human race. The first of these missions on a spacecraft known as Ark One encounters a catastrophic event causing massive destruction and loss of life. With more than a year left to go before reaching their target planet, a lack of life-sustaining supplies and loss of leadership, the remaining crew must become the best versions of themselves to stay on course and survive. Premieres 10 PM EST on Wednesday.

Sci Fi TV News

Amazon has a television series in the works based on the Tomb Raider video games and plans on expanding it into a shared universe with movies. A Hulu exec has said that they “don’t have anything to share right now” concerning a possible fourth season of The Orville keeping that show very much in limbo. Peacock has cancelled development on Julie Plec’s supernatural drama Dead Day, but the property is getting shopped around.
