Sci Fi TV Highlights: Premieres for Cabinet of Curiosities, Tales of the Jedi, and More

Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week


Cabinet of Curiosities (Premieres October 25th on Netflix): The maestro of horror – Guillermo Del Toro – presents 8 blood-curdling tales of horror. This anthology of sinister stories is told by some of today’s most revered horror creators, including the directors of The Babadook, Splice, Mandy, and many more. All episodes will be available for streaming on Tuesday.



Tales of the Jedi (Premieres October 26th on Disney+): A 6 episode event featuring parables built around Jedi from the prequel era. Journey into the lives of two distinctly different Jedi — Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku. Each will be put to the test as they make choices that will define their destinies. All episodes will be available for streaming on Wednesday.



The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself (Premieres October 28th on Netflix): Sixteen-year-old Nathan (Jay Lycurgo) is the illegitimate son of the world’s most dangerous witch. Fearing he will follow in his father’s footsteps, Nathan is closely monitored throughout his childhood. As the boundaries between ‘good’ and ‘bad’ fray, Nathan – along with mischievous Annalise and charismatic Gabriel – will soon discover who he truly is. All episodes will be available for streaming on Friday.



Star Trek: Prodigy (Returns from Hiatus October 27th on Paramount+): With Vice Admiral Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) hot on their heels, Dal (Brett Gray), Gwyn (Ella Purnell), and the rest of the Protostar crew search for Starfleet in the midseason return. This show will release one episode per week.

Schedule Notes

Wrapping up this week, Star Trek Lower Decks will have its Season 3 finale on Thursday and that one has already been renewed for a fourth season. Over on Peacock, Vampire Academy will have its season finale the same day and we are still waiting for word on whether that one will be back for a second season.
