Nielsen Streaming Top 10
Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale returned for its fifth season the week of September 12th to 18th and placed at Number 5 in the Nielsen Top 10 for Originals. The show had an estimated 581 million minutes of viewing that week and it has already been renewed for a sixth and final season. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (renewed) moved up to the Number 2 slot in the rankings, though its viewership dipped below one billion minutes for the first time. Netflix’s The Imperfects slipped one spot to Number 7, pulling in 533 million minutes of viewing which may help get it to a second season. Fate: The Winx Saga entered the charts for the week of its Season 2 premiere at Number 8 with 524 million minutes of viewing and it could be on target for a third-year renewal. Stranger Things (renewed) and She-Hulk (renewal possible) slipped to Number 9 and 10 respectively. The Sandman slipped out after six weeks and we are still waiting for word on whether that one will be back for a second season.
House of the Dragon (renewed) remained at Number 1 in the Top 10 for acquired shows, pulling in 960 million minutes of viewing while Game of Thrones slipped down to Number 4 with 700 million minutes viewed. The new supernatural drama The Midnight Club (renewal possible) entered the Netflix Top 10 for English language shows for the week of October 3rd to 9th. It debuted at Number 4 with nineteen million hours watched which counts as a good start. Fate: The Winx Saga (renewal possible) Season 2 slipped to Number 6 with fifteen million hours while Stranger Things (renewed) Season 4 slipped to Number 9 with nine million hours watched. In the Top 10 for Non-English language shows, Alchemy of Souls (renewal possible) improved to Number 6 with ten million hours watched while Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (renewal possible) slipped to Number 8 with eight million hours.
