Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
Avenue 5 (Season 2 Premieres October 10th on HBO): Avenue 5 is set 40 years into the future where traveling the solar system is a booming tourism business. The eight-episode second season charts how an eight-week space cruise has turned into a nightmare never-ending vacation for those onboard. Premieres at 10 PM EST on Monday.
The Winchesters (Premieres October 11th on The CW): Before Sam and Dean, there was John and Mary. Told from the perspective of narrator Dean Winchester, this is the epic, untold love story of how John met Mary, and how they put it all on the line to not only save their love, but the entire world. Premieres at 8 PM EST on Tuesday.
Exception (Premieres October 13th on Netflix): “What is a human?” An all-star staff including writer Hirotaka Adachi (aka Otsuichi), character designer Yoshitaka Amano, composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and director Yuzo Sato presents a completely original space horror sci-fi story! All episodes will be available for viewing on Thursday.
Schedule Notes
Three shows will be wrapping up this week starting with Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power which has its season finale on Thursday. That one has been renewed for a second season which should stream in 2023. Also on Thursday, She-Hulk will have its Season 1 finale on Disney+. There has been no word on a second season of that one yet. Then on Friday, See will have its series finale on Apple TV+.
