Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
Resident Evil (Premieres July 14th on Netflix): The town of Clearfield, MD has long stood in the shadow of three seemingly unrelated behemoths – the Umbrella Corporation, the decommissioned Greenwood Asylum, and Washington, D.C. Today, twenty-six years after the discovery of the T-Virus, secrets held by the three will start to be revealed at the first signs of outbreak. All episodes will be available for streaming on Thursday.
What We Do in the Shadows (Season 4 Premieres July 12th on FX): What We Do in the Shadows follows four vampires, and their human familiar, who’ve “lived” together for hundreds of years. Season four continues to make the case for blood and comedy with more strange beasts, surprising guest stars and tap dancing than ever. And this time with just a touch of home renovation. The two-episode season premiere will start Tuesday at 10 PM EST
Solar Opposites (Season 3 Premieres July 14th on Hulu): A family of aliens crash lands on Earth after their utopic home planet, Schlorp, is destroyed by an asteroid. While they were hoping to find an uninhabited world to repopulate, they must now learn to live among humans on our overpopulated planet and are divided on whether they love or hate their new life. All episodes will be available for streaming on Thursday.
Farzar (Premieres July 15th on Netflix): Egotistical human warrior Renzo liberated the planet Farzar from the evil alien Bazarack, and then established a human settlement under a huge dome, becoming the Czar of FARZAR. Years later, FARZAR is under attack by the evil aliens once again and Renzo’s well-meaning and not-so-bright son Prince Fichael ventures out with his special crew “S.H.A.T.” (Special Hostile Assault Team!), made up of a human-solider-turned-cyborg, clashing conjoined twins, an unhinged scientist, a highly incapable mutant and a mischievous little alien known as a chaos-celot. As they begin their journey to fight the aliens that want to kill/eat them, Fichael quickly discovers that all is not what it seems and he may be living a lie. All episodes will be available for streaming on Friday.
