Ghosts Will Continue to Haunt as CBS Renews It for a Second Season

CBS will not be exorcising its Ghosts this season as the network has given that supernatural comedy a second season renewal.  The news does not come as a surprise as the show ended the Fall season in the Top 30 among broadcast network shows and its numbers have improved since returning from its Winter hiatus.  Currently, it is the second most-watched comedy on CBS behind hit series Young Sheldon.  It has averaged a 0.58 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 6.7 million total viewers and it is performing better than the network average for non-sports, non-special, and non-repeat programming.  It is also the Number 1 comedy on Paramount+ based on its encore run on that CBS-owned streaming service.  The show was picked up for a full season in Fall which should give it around twenty episodes for its first year.  And expect the second season to be around the same episode count.

Ghosts follow New Yorkers Samantha and Jay who inherit a house in the country only to find that it is falling apart and inhabited by the ghosts who previously died there.  Samantha is able to see and communicate with the ghosts because she previously had a near-death experience.  It stars Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Brandon Scott Jones, Richie Moriarty, Asher Grodman and it is based on the British series of the same name.
