Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
Superman & Lois (Season 2 Premieres on The CW January 11th): Season 2 opens with the dust still settling in Smallville following the shocking outcome of the confrontation between Tal-Rho and Superman. Lois and Clark struggle as a couple while Chrissy adjusts to running The Smallville Gazette with Lois. Jonathan faces new challenges on the football field, and secrets threaten to destroy Jordan and Sarah’s growing relationship. Meanwhile, Kyle grows concerned over Lana’s involvement with a new mayoral candidate. Lastly, John Henry Irons and his daughter Natalie attempt to make this new Earth their home. The second season premieres Tuesday at 8 PM EST.
Peacemaker (Premieres on HBO Max January 13th): This series explores the continuing story of the character that John Cena reprises in the aftermath of executive producer James Gunn’s 2021 film The Suicide Squad – a compellingly vainglorious man who believes in peace at any cost, no matter how many people he has to kill to get it! The first three episodes will be available to stream on Thursday and then this show will release one ep per week.
Naomi (Premieres on The CW January 11th): This DC drama follows the journey of a cool, confident, comic book–loving teenager as she pursues her hidden destiny. Premieres Tuesday at 9 PM EST.
Arcive 81 (Premieres on Netflix January 12th): An archivist takes a job restoring damaged videotapes and gets pulled into the vortex of a mystery involving the missing director and a demonic cult. All episodes will be available for streaming on Friday.
Schedule Notes:
Also premiering this week, The CW’s horror anthology Two Sentence Horror Stories returns Sunday for its third season at 9 PM EST with back-to-back episodes. And the third season of the fantasy epic Britannia will kick off on Sunday on EPIX (it has already aired in Britain on Sky). On Wednesday, The CW’s Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman return from hiatus to resume their current seasons. And two shows will be wrapping up this week with the final episode of the HBO Max mini-series Station Eleven dropping on Thursday, and the series finale for The Expanse streaming on Friday.
