Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
The first half of the 2021-22 season wraps up this week, but it also brings one premiere and a special episode.
The Book of Boba Fett (Premieres on Disney+ December 29th): This series follows legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate. The series premieres on Wednesday and will release one episode per week.
Doctor Who (New Years Special Premieres on BBC America January 1st): “Eve Of The Daleks” – Sarah (Aisling Bea) owns and runs ELF storage, and Nick (Adjani Salmon) is a customer who visits his unit every year on New Year’s Eve. This year, however, their night turns out to be a little different than planned . . . Premieres Saturday at 2 PM EST with an encore run at 8 PM EST.
Schedule Notes:
Most shows are on hiatus this week, but there are some marathons of note. Starting Monday at 6 AM, BBC America will be airing Doctor Who pretty much non-stop leading up to the New Years special on Saturday. Starting on Saturday at 9 AM, AMC will run a two-day marathon of The Walking Dead. And Syfy will have its annual Twilight Zone marathon which kicks off at 2 AM on Friday and runs through Sunday morning. Immediately following that, the network will air all the episodes of Resident Alien Season 1 which will lead into a preview of the upcoming second season which premieres January 26th.
