Sci Fi TV Development:

The CW has another DC-based live-action series in the works as Batwoman executive producers Chad Fiveash and James Stoteraux are developing Gotham Knights for the network. Deadline gives the following description of the project:

In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his rebellious adopted son forges an unlikely alliance with the children of Batman’s enemies when they are all framed for killing the Caped Crusader. And as the city’s most wanted criminals, this renegade band of misfits must fight to clear their names. But in a Gotham with no Dark Knight to protect it, the city descends into the most dangerous it’s ever been. However, hope comes from the most unexpected of places as this team of mismatched fugitives will become its next generation of saviors known as the Gotham Knights.

Uber-producer Greg Berlanti is attached, but it is unclear at this point if this will be part of the Arrow-verse or yet another Batman-series-without-Batman that exists in its own universe like Gotham, Pennyworth, and the upcoming The Penguin, and Gotham P.D. This also does not appear to be realted to the video game of the same name.  Gotham Knights is currently early in the development stage and The CW will likely be considering it for its 2020-23 schedule.

Ratings Results of Interest:

On Friday, Syfy’s The Day of the Dead remained low in the ratings at a 0.04 score based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 213K total viewers.  Since the network does not have an ownership stake in the show, it only makes money from the advertising which is driven by the same-day viewing numbers.  Those remain low so I am keeping this one On the Bubble and I am close to moving it to Cancellation Likely.  Over on The CW on Friday, Nancy Drew improved to a 0.06 rating with 294K total viewers.  That one should return for at least a fourth season because its network does not cancel third year shows.  On Thursday, Ghosts held mostly steady for CBS at a 0.54 rating with 5.7 million total viewers and should be on track for a second season renewal.  On The CW, Legacies held at a 0.08 rating with 357K total viewers and should return for at least a fifth season if not more.  I covered the early week ratings in the prior Sci Fi TV Update post, and below are the full ratings for genre shows from the past week. Nielsen still has not updated its Streaming Top 10 and I had heard talks that they were going to be revising those rankings. I will keep an eye out for new numbers and post those when available. I covered the most recent Netflix Top 10 in the prior post, so no further digital ratings info is available at this point.
