We have passed the midway point of the Fall season and we are getting a clearer view of where the broadcast network genre entries stand. NBC’s La Brea has seen its numbers drop since its debut, and it did take a hit when it aired against the World Series last week, but for the most part it has performed well for the network. It slipped in the rankings (going from Number 17 to Number 22) since the last time I posted these stats, but it is still performing on par with other dramas on NBC and above the network average for non-repeat, non-special, and non-sports programming. I don’t expect that show to get more than a handful of additional episodes added to its first season (if any) because NBC has gone to shortened runs for shows like these (as we saw with Manifest). But it currently is on track for a second-year pickup.
CBS’ Ghosts also slipped in the rankings (from Number 23 to Number 26), but it continues to perform well for a sitcom on that network and remains in the Top 30. That one has received a full-season order and could be on track for second-year renewal if its numbers hold steady into the second half of the season.
Below are the Top 30 broadcast network shows for non-repeat, non-special, and non-sports programming based on ratings results through November 7th. Continue on to see the rankings for The CW which I separated from the Big Four broadcast networks.

The CW shows continue to be a class among themselves as they typically deliver low linear ratings. But that network pays more attention to the digital viewing because it has done a better job of adapting to the 21st century. Among the genre entries, Stargirl is the highest rated with its carryover run from Summer at Number 3. That one has even outpaced Fall Arrow-verse entries Legends of Tomorrow and Batwoman. New series 4400 is next in the rankings among sci fi/fantasy entries at Number 5. Interestingly, two non-genre entries top the list, and the Penn & Teller magic reality show is at Number 4. But that should not be too much of a concern for the network’s Fall shows as The CW tends to issue a blanket renewal announcement around January or February. Below are the rankings for all the network’s shows that have aired new episodes in Fall.
