Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
This week brings three more sci fi and fantasy shows to the Fall schedule, two on the linear networks and one on the streaming services.
4400 (Premieres on The CW October 25th): Over the last century 4400 people who were overlooked, undervalued or otherwise marginalized vanished without a trace off the face of the planet. Now, inexplicably, they’re back, returned to Detroit having not aged a day and with no memory of what happened to them. The series premiere is at 9 PM EST on Monday.
Doctor Who (Season 13 Premieres on BBC America October 31st): Jodie Whittaker returns for her third and final series as the Thirteenth Doctor with the six-part story “Flux”. The season premiere is at 8 PM EST on Sunday.
Star Trek Prodigy (Premieres on Paramount+ October 28th): This series will follow a motley crew of young aliens who must figure out how to work together while navigating a greater galaxy, in search for a better future. These six young outcasts know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek Franchise – but over the course of their adventures together, they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents. The first episode will be available for streaming on Thursday.
Schedule Notes:
Also this week, FX’s What We Do in the Shadows will be wrapping up its third season on Thursday. That one has already been renewed for a fourth season. On Wednesday, Legends of Tomorrow will air its 100th episode on The CW and several prior team members will be showing up. On Friday, The CW will air the animated special Scooby Doo, Where Are You Now? Last week, the Peacock original series Girl in the Woods premiered almost no notice (it does not even have a Wikipedia entry). Following is the tagline for the show: “In a world where monsters are real, a teenage runaway in a sleepy mining town must enlist the help of new friends to fight dangerous figures from her past”. All episodes are available for viewing (and thanks to Jon Jones for bringing that one to our attention). You can see the full Fall schedule of sci fi and fantasy shows at this link.

The 4400 already has a remake – it’s called “Manifest”. This thing on the CW…I have no idea what it is nor any interest in it.
Creepshow (AMC) 10:00-11:00 Encore Run
The Creepshow Encore Run ended last week.
No more shows scheduled on AMC for the near
future.
Thanks for the update. I believe that the TV Guide listings still showed it when I was running through them last week, but it appears they updated that.
