Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
Four sci fi /fantasy shows join the Summer lineup this week, two kicking off a new season and two more having their series premieres.
American Horror Stories (Hulu): Taking place in the same universe as American Horror Story, this anthology delivers a new story each week revisiting characters and places from the original series as well as venturing into new tales of horror. Starring Matt Bomer, Taissa Farmiga, Evan Peters, Sierra McCormick, Kaia Gerber, and Paris Jackson. This show premieres on Thursday with the first two episodes available for streaming.
The Outpost (CW): Having defeated Dred and retaken the Outpost, Talon (Jessica Green) and Gwynn prepare for war. Talon delves deeper into demon summoning, while Gwynn (Imogen Waterhouse) recruits allies. The Prime Order trinity known as “The Three” reveal mysterious powers as they send spies, assassins, and a devastating weapon to the Outpost. Season 4 premieres on The CW Thursday at 9 PM EST with episodes available to stream next day on the networks’ website and app.
SurrealEstate (Syfy): Real estate agent Luke Roman is the owner of The Roman Agency, a boutique residential real estate brokerage specializing in “metaphysically engaged” properties, also known as haunted houses. Luke has a special connection to the spiritual realm; he can not only sense the presence that might inhabit a client’s house, he can often communicate and negotiate with it. Along with his team, Luke takes on the houses nobody else can or will. This series premieres in the U.S. on Friday at 10 PM EST on Syfy. It airs on the CTV Sci Fi Channel in Canada.
Schedule Notes
Also premiering this week is Season 2 of Dead Pixels, the British gamer show that The CW has acquired for its Summer schedule. That one kicks off new episodes at 9:30 PM on Sunday. Loki releases its season finale on Disney+ on Wednesday. A second season of that show is reportedly in the works. Previously, the new episodes of The Outpost that start on Thursday were indicated as the second half of the show’s third season. But apparently it is now being referred as the show’s fourth season. The home network for SurrealEstate is the CTV Sci Fi Channel in Canada. But Syfy will be airing episodes here in the states starting this Friday. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like it is actually later Thursday night that it will premiere, but that may vary based on your timezone.
