Ratings Results of Interest
On Sunday, HBO’s new series The Nevers aired its second episode and saw its numbers improve to a 0.12 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 561K total viewers. That is an improvement from its debut which is a good sign because the numbers generally drop for shows after their first episode. This one scored very well in digital viewing on HBO Max last week, so as long as that trend holds, it could be on target for a second season renewal.
Over on The CW, Batwoman improved to its best numbers this season pulling a 0.17 rating with 561K total viewers. And that gave Charmed a lift as it improved to a 0.11 rating with 431K total viewers. Both shows have already been renewed. Over on AMC, Fear the Walking Dead slipped to a 0.22 rating with 1.1 million total viewers. That show has already been renewed for a seventh season.
On Friday, Syfy’s Van Helsing returned for its fifth and final season and posted a 0.06 rating in the demo with 304K total viewers. That is down some from its fourth season but about in line with the year-over-year declines we have been seeing for most shows. Over on CBS, MacGyver improved a tick to a 0.48 rating with 4.3 million total viewers for what will be its second to last episode. That one is preempted this week and has its series finale April 30th. On Thursday, NBC’s Manifest improved some to a 0.51 rating with 3.3 million total viewers. If that show holds around this level and continues to see strong delayed viewing gains like in season past, I believe it will be on course for fourth season renewal.
I did not cover the premiere of The CW’s new series Kung Fu because I thought that was more of an action-adventure series, but it appears that it will bring in some fantasy elements so I will be including it going forward. That show had a good debut for The CW two weeks ago with a 0.22 rating and 1.4 million total viewers. It slipped just a bit this past week to a 0.20 score but remained steady on the total viewers. And that one is giving Nancy Drew a boost in the lead-out hour as that show posted a 0.11 rating with 505K total viewers. The latter show has already been renewed and Kung Fu appears to be on track to a second season nod.
On Tuesday, The CW’s The Flash improved to a 0.28 rating with 886K total viewers while Supergirl held steady with a 0.15 rating and 586K total viewers. On Monday, NBC’s Debris improved to a 0.40 rating with 2.6 million total viewers, but that one is still underperforming and remains very much On the Bubble. On The CW, Black Lighting posted a 0.09 rating with 391K total viewers as it airs out its final season.

Status Updates of Interest
For the status updates on all of the currently airing shows plus those awaiting word on their fate, go to this link.
For All Mankind (Apple TV+, Streaming 2nd Season, Status – Renewed): This show wraps up its second season this week and it was renewed for a third year in advance of its Season 2 premiere. It has proven to be one of the more popular originals on the Apple TV+ streaming service thus far and could stick around for a few more years.
The Watch (BBCA, 1st Season Ended, Status – On the Bubble): The ratings for this show started low and then slipped further to the point that it barely registered. It may have international funding and/or syndication deals keeping it aloft, but I consider this one very much On the Bubble. Fans may want to make a Call to Action on the social networks to bring more attention to the show.
