Sci Fi/Fantasy TV Shows Premiering This Week
We are changing up the format of the listings a bit starting this week, offering more information on the shows airing. And this will be a busy week with four premieres, all of which are on the streaming services. Following is the information on those shows and be sure to follow the Cancellation Watch Weekly Roundup each week to keep up with their renewal/cancellation status.
Invincible (Amazon Prime Video): The story revolves around 17-year-old Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), who’s just like every other guy his age — except his father is the most powerful superhero on the planet, Omni-Man (J.K. Simmons). Based on the comic book created by Robert Kirkman. Season 1 premieres Friday with the first three episodes available for streaming and the show will release one episode per week after that.
The Irregulars (Netflix): The Irregulars are Bea, Jessie, Billy, Spike and Leo. Join this ragtag gang as they uncover the demonic and mysterious depths of Victorian London alongside the sinister Dr Watson and his enigmatic business partner, Sherlock Holmes. Season 1 premieres Friday with all episodes available for streaming.
DOTA Dragon’s Blood (Netflix): A conflicted yet courageous Dragon Knight must use the power of the dragon within to stop a deadly demon in this epic fantasy based on the online game. Season 1 premieres Friday with all episodes available for streaming that day.
Solar Opposites (Hulu): From Justin Roiland, the co-creator of Rick and Morty, and Mike McMahan, comes a series about a family of aliens trying to fit in on this human-infested crap-hole of a planet called Earth. Season 2 premieres Friday with all episodes available for streaming.
Other Schedule Notes
This week will have the last new episode Superman & Lois for a while as it will be going on hiatus due to COVID-related production delays with Supergirl taking over its timeslot starting next week. S&L will resume new episodes in May. Black Lightning will air a repeat this week and Snowpiercer will be preempted, but next week brings the two-hour Season 2 finale for the latter series.
