Disney+’s WandaVision held on strong in the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 for originals for the week of February 8th to 14th. It remained in the Number 3 slot and pulled in an estimated 596 million minutes of viewership for the week. Returning to the Top 10 was Netflix’s Lucifer which tied for the Number 9 slot with 194 million minutes of viewership. That show was last in the Top 10 back in August/September of last year when the first half of its fifth season was released. There is still not a premiere date for the second half of Season 5B.
In the Top 10 for acquired shows, Outlander remained in the rankings for its encore run on Netflix at the Number 7 slot with an estimated 611 million minutes of viewing. Supernatural dropped out of the rankings after having placed there for several weeks. In the Top 10 streaming movies, the South Korean “Space Western” Space Sweepers placed at Number 7 for Netflix with 140 million minutes of viewing. You can see the full rankings at this link.
The Nielsen Streaming Ratings rank the shows/movies on Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and Hulu based on the number of minutes watched during the week by U.S. viewers on television sets (mobile devices are not included at this point). The numbers are extrapolated based on the Nielsen sampling of families who have meters monitoring their viewing habits. Also note, shows with more episodes available will tend to have a higher number of minutes watched.
