Shudder’s horror anthology series Creepshow, based on the 1982 George A. Romero and Stephen King movie of the same name, has received an early renewal for a third season. That show’s second season is set to premiere April 1st, and the third season is getting a quick turnaround with plans for it to bow later in the year. Showrunner Greg Nicotero had the following to say about the renewal:
During our season two production, Shudder was so pleased with what they were seeing that they asked us to roll right into production on a brand-new third season that will feature some of our most ambitious stories yet.
As with the other seasons, the third will consist of six episodes, each containing two separate horror stories. In addition to that, the AMC-owned streaming service which focuses on the horror genre has ordered a new anthology series showcasing Black horror stories from Black directors and screenwriters. The title and estimated premiere for that series has not been announced yet.
We are still waiting to hear word on quite a number of other genre shows like HBO’s Lovecraft Country, Netflix’s Cursed, and Apple TV+’s Amazing Stories, so stay tuned for more announcements.
