I’m running behind on this announcement due to minimal power and internet during the Texas Winter storm, but better late than never. Amazon has decided not to proceed with a second season of its supernatural dramedy Truth Seekers. Coming from Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, the series premiered on the streaming service in October 2020, but there had been no word on its fate after that. This past weekend, Frost announced on social media that Amazon had cancelled the show after its first season. Following are his comments on the cancellation:
Truth Seekers has not been renewed, which is a massive kick in the willy for me. We really put our all into this – our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so to not come back is really sad for us. It’s a shame. I think we had lots of lovely ghost stories to tell – stories that will remain now untold. If you liked the show, thank you. And if you didn’t, are you happy now? Happy now?
The British-based series scored relatively well on Rotten Tomatoes, currently holding a 76% Fresh Rating and an 83% audience score. It did not place in the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 when it debuted, and Amazon has not released any viewing numbers for the show. A specific reason for the cancellation has not been given yet, and it is unclear at this point if Frost and Pegg will try to shop this around to other venues, but an online petition has already been started by fans. The entire first season is still available for streaming.
Truth Seekers follows broadband maintenance man Gus Roberts who works for Smyle internet and who also investigates paranormal activity in his spare time along with a ragtag team who assist with his cases. It stars Nick Frost, Simon Pegg, Emma D’Arcy, Samson Kayo, Susie Wokoma, and Malcolm McDowell.

I would sign a petition to bring back season 2 but no one has started one that I can find.
I guess we need to look for a Feedback option on Amazon.
Great show, can’t believe its being canceled. Amazon is a moron for canceling it. I may cancel my Prime membership over this.
