News on the Nielsen Streaming Top 10 was sparse over the holidays, but I have tracked down some information and hopefully these will be caught up by the end of this week. Disney+’s The Mandalorian held steady at the Number 4 slot for the week of November 23rd to 29th. That was Thanksgiving week and apparently a lot of people were watching the streaming services over the holiday because the show logged and estimated 1.21 billion minutes viewed, the highest single-week viewership for the show in its second season. There were no other genre entries in the Top 10 for the week.
The Nielsen Streaming Ratings rank the shows/movies on Netflix, Amazon, Disney+, and Hulu based on the number of minutes watched during the week by U.S. viewers. The numbers are extrapolated based on the Nielsen sampling of families who have meters monitoring their viewing habits. Also, shows with more episodes available will tend to have a higher number of minutes watched. Following are the genre shows in the Top 10 for the week which includes the estimated minutes viewed (the prior week rank is in parenthesis).
