Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
It has been a relatively slow Fall season as far as sci fi and fantasy television is concerned, but the end of this week will start ramping things up for a much busier Mid-Season. On Thursday, Part 4 of Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (which will be its final season) has its premiere with all episodes available for streaming that day. On Friday, the Doctor Who Holiday special will air on BBC America starting at 8 PM EST. The thirteenth season of that show will kick off later in 2021. Then on Sunday, The Watch has its debut on BBC America. That fantasy series is based on the Discworld fantasy novels by Terry Pratchett.
Wrapping up this week is His Dark Materials which has its Season 2 finale on HBO on Monday. That one has been renewed for a third and final season. Also wrapping up is The CW’s The Outpost which has its Mid-Season finale on Sunday. That one will return with new episodes in Summer. EPIX’s Pennyworth had its double-ep Mid-Season finale on December 27th and will return with new episodes on March 7th. Things will continue to ramp up over the next few weeks with the return of shows delayed from Fall like The Flash, Legacies, Manifest, American Horror Story, and more.
