Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
Two more sci fi/fantasy shows join the Fall schedule this week, both on the streaming services. On Thursday, the third season of Star Trek: Discovery has its debut on CBS All Access, and that one will release one episode a week. Over on the linear CBS network, the encore run of the first season of Star Trek: Discovery continues on Thursdays at the 10 PM ET hour. On Friday, Hulu’s Marvel comics-based series Helstrom has its premiere and all episodes will be available for streaming that day. On Sunday, HBO’s Lovecraft Country has its season finale. That one has not been renewed for a second season yet, but I would expect an announcement soon. There are still more sci fi and fantasy shows on the way this Fall, and you can see the full schedule at this link.

Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
