On Sunday, AMC’s The Walking Dead finally aired its Season 10 “finale” (now a transitional episode), though viewership was down from what the show was seeing last Spring. The episode posted a 0.87 rating based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 2.7 million total viewers. That counts as a series low mark and is down from its Season 10 average of a 1.1 rating. But it is still good for a cable series these days, especially on highly competitive Sundays. That show is currently in its home stretch with six more eps added to its tenth season and then it will wrap up with an extended eleventh season.
In the lead-out hour, spin-off series The Walking Dead: World Beyond had its premiere and posted a 0.49 rating in the demo with 1.6 million total viewers. AMC certainly hoped for better numbers from that one, but those are still a decent stats for a cable series in the current Peak TV crunch, especially going up against Sunday Night Football and the NBA playoffs. I expect the numbers to drop next week without a lead-in from TWD, but not enough to jeopardize this one from continuing into its already planned second season.
Over on The CW on Sunday, Pandora returned for its second season and posted a 0.1 rating with 331K total viewers. That’s about even with where it performed during is first season in Summer 2019 and may be enough to get it to a third year. On HBO, Lovecraft Country slipped to a 0.16 rating with 627K total viewers for the night in the face of stiff competition.
On Thursday, Star Trek: Discovery improved to a 0.3 rating with 1.7 million total viewers for CBS with a stronger lead-in from Big Brother, but still lost 75% of the audience from the prior hour. So far, it appears the encore run is not drawing in many new viewers for the show. On Wednesday on The CW, The 100 posted a 0.2 rating with 614K total viewers for its series finale. A prequel series spin-off from that show could still be on the way.

Status Updates of Interest
For the status updates on all of the currently airing shows plus those awaiting word on their fate, go to this link.
Lovecraft Country (HBO Max, Airing 1st Season, Status – Renewal Possible): The ratings for this show are decent if not spectacular, and it makes up some slack with digital and delayed viewing as well as encore runs. It has also been getting some good buzz and potential Emmy attention, so consider it to be on track for a second season renewal.
Into the Dark (Hulu, Streaming 2nd Season, Status – Renewal Possible): This horror-movie-a-month anthology has gone dormant due to the production shutdowns, but it still has two more films planned for its second season. Whether it will continue into a third season remains to be seen.
