Breaking News: Raised by Wolves Renewed for Second Season by HBO Max

Coming as no surprise, HBO Max has given a second season renewal to its science fiction series Raised by Wolves. The streamer has indicated the series is its top-performing original and that it grew its audience by fifty percent in its second week (it released three episodes its first week and has been releasing two a week since then). The show was at Number 8 in IMDb Pro’s MOVIEmeter rankings in its first week and improved to Number 7 in its second. Even if its early performance had not been as strong, I still would have bet on it getting a second season. It is a high-profile series with Ridley Scott’s name attached and the new streaming services have an incentive to renew their early shows to help build up an audience. This series was also heavily promoted by HBO Max. The first season consists of ten episodes and the second season will likely be about the same length.

Raised by Wolves follows two androids who have been tasked with raising human children on a distant planet after Earth has been destroyed by war. But problems arise when religious differences among the humans threaten to tear the colony apart. It stars Amanda Collin, Abubakar Salim, Winta McGrath, Travis Fimmel, and Niamh Algar.
