Weekly Roundup: Ratings results and status updates on all the currently airing sci fi & fantasy shows as well as those still awaiting word on their fates. For the latest ratings updates throughout the week, be sure to follow the Cancelled Sci Fi Twitter Site
Ratings Results of Interest: On Sunday, TNT’s dystopian drama Snowpiercer saw its ratings improved to a 0.31 score based on same-day viewing for the 18-49 demographic with 1.2 million total viewers. That show continues to perform well for its network and has already been renewed for a second season. Over on AMC, NOS4A2 slipped to a 0.08 rating with 437K total viewers. Those numbers are quite low, and unless this one has international financing and/or syndication deals propping it up, it may be on the way out after its second season.
On Wednesday, both The CW’s The 100 and ABC’s Agents of SHIELD dropped one-tenth of a point. But both of those are in their final seasons, so the same-day ratings should not impact them much.
The rest of the shows held mostly steady in the ratings, and below are the numbers for all the sci fi and fantasy entries from the past week. Renewal and Cancellation Announcements: Netflix has renewed its supernatural dramedy Lucifer for a sixth season after successful negotiations with Tom Ellis to return to the show. That one was previously set to end with its upcoming fifth season, but will now wrap up with its sixth year. Syfy has officially cancelled its space opera series Vagrant Queen after months of speculation on the show’s fate. It debuted to poor ratings in Spring and was quickly moved off the Prime Time schedule, suggesting that network execs had lost faith in the show. That one is an acquired drama for Syfy and there is no word yet on whether its production company will try and show it around.
Status Updates of Interest
For the status updates on all of the currently airing shows plus those awaiting word on their fate, go to this link.
NOS4A2 (AMC, Airing, Status – On the Bubble): This show has returned with ratings down notably from its first season average, which was already on the low side. It starts out its second year On the Bubble and could be heading to Cancellation Likely status soon. Fans may want to make a Call to Action on the social networks to bring more attention to the show.
Altered Carbon (Netflix, Season Ended, Status – Renewal Possible): Word is that this one almost did not make it to a second season, and Netflix has been in the cancelling business of late. Perhaps Anthony Mackie’s presence will revive interest in the show, though, and allow it to stick around for at least one more year. Fans may want to make a Call to Action on the social networks to give the show a boost.

Not surprised that The 100 is losing a little bit of audience. I definitely did not see it coming for Agents of Shield because this last season has been quite enjoyable.
