Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
Yet another week of reduced sci fi TV offerings, but there is one premiere on the way and The CW’s Arrow-verse shows will be returing with new episodes. On Sunday, Showtime’s Penny Dreadful: City of Angels has its premiere at 10 PM EST. That one is a spin-off from 2014’s Penny Dreadful and is set in the same universe. On Tuesday, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow resume new episodes after their short break driven by the production shutdowns. And on Sunday, Batwoman and Supergirl returning to the fold. All four will air new episodes for the next few weeks until they wrap up their current seasons which were cut short. The remaining planned episodes will get pushed to next season.
Note that Syfy’s Vagrant Queen has been subjected to a timeslot change, getting moved out of Prime Time to 11 PM EST on Thursdays. That is not a good sign for the show’s future which I discuss in more detail at this link. Also of note, Netflix will start streaming the CGI / Anime series Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 on Thursday. That show has already been broadcast in Japan. Wrapping up this week is Cosmos: Possible Worlds as well as HBO’s mini-series The Plot Against America. Both have their finales on Monday. There are more sci fi and fantasy shows set for premieres in May, and you can see the current schedule of sci fi and fantasy shows at this link

Schedule Notes: If a show is listed as On Hiatus, that means that it is taking a break of more than two episodes in a row. If a streaming series is included in the listings after its premiere date, then it releases new episodes once per week on that day as opposed to releasing its entire season at one time.
