What Is It?
Crisis on Infinite Earths is the next big cross-over event for The CW’s Arrow-verse shows and will air an episode across each series with Black Lightning getting pulled in as well (the character will play a part, but will not have his own Crisis episode). The story is inspired by the comic book series of the same name from 1985 that merged all of the different worlds from the DC multi-verse (which had become quite complicated at that time) into one universe. The Crisis event for the Arrow-verse was set up with last season’s Elseworlds cross-over and will apparently have major implications for the CW shows, plus we could see several major heroes fall. Supergirl could get merged into the same universe as The Flash and Arrow and perhaps Black Lightning as well (it is not officially an Arrow-verse show at this time). The event will also feature appearances from actors that have portrayed DC characters in other movies and television shows such as Burt Ward returning as Robin and Brandon Routh reprising his Superman role from the big screen. Arrow will also be ending this season shortly after its Crisis cross-over episode, so the fate of one or more characters from that show could be in doubt. Following is the official synopsis for Part 1 of the event which kicks off on Supergirl on December 8th (see the full schedule for the event below):
The Monitor (guest star LaMonica Garrett) sends Harbinger (guest star Audrey Marie Anderson) to gather the worlds’ greatest heroes – Supergirl (Melissa Benoist), The Flash (guest star Grant Gustin), Green Arrow (guest star Stephen Amell), Batwoman (guest star Ruby Rose), White Canary (guest star Caity Lotz), The Atom (guest star Brandon Routh) and Superman (guest star Tyler Hoechlin) – in preparation for the impending Crisis. With their worlds in imminent danger, the superheroes suit up for battle while J’onn (David Harewood) and Alex (Chyler Leigh) recruit Lena (Katie McGrath) to help them find a way to save the people of Earth-38.
When Will It Air?
The cross-over begins in December with episodes of Supergirl and Batwoman (the latter shifting to Monday that week), then it carries into The Flash. It will leave us on a cliffhanger at that point and the story will pick up again in January with back-to-back episodes of Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. Here is the full schedule for the cross-over.
Supergirl: Sunday, December 8, 2019 8 PM EST
Batwoman: Monday, December 9, 2019 8 PM EST
The Flash: Tuesday, December 10, 2019 8 PM EST
Arrow: Tuesday, January 14, 2020 8 PM EST
Legends of Tomorrow: Tuesday, January 14, 2020 9 PM EST
