What Is It?
Nancy Drew is a modern-day take on the classic female super-sleuth stories that throws in a supernatural twist. Following is the official synopsis for the show:
Nancy Drew is a brilliant teenaged detective whose sense of self had come from solving mysteries in her hometown of Horseshoe Bay, Maine – until her mother’s untimely death derails Nancy’s college plans. Devastated by her mother’s passing, Nancy swears off crime-solving while crossing off the days until she can re-apply to college. But when a socialite is murdered, Nancy finds herself a prime suspect in the crime, along with a group of other teens present at the scene: Nancy’s nemesis from high school, George Fan; a rich girl with a mysterious past, Bess Marvin; Nancy’s secret boyfriend, Ned “Nick” Nickerson, and amiable burnout Ace. The five of them must team up to clear their own names – encountering emotional entanglements and even more mysteries along the way.

Status
The best broadcast network for a new series these days is The CW because it has the lowest cancellation rate. I expect that this show will pull moderate at best linear viewing numbers, but do much better in digital viewing like Riverdale, Charmed, and Legacies. And since The CW has better adapted to the 21st century, that will give Nancy Drew a decent chance of surviving into a second season. You can keep up with the ratings results and further status updates during the season at the show’s page on this site.
