Weekly roundup of science fiction and fantasy shows (as well as movies/specials of note) on the Prime Time TV schedule, also including programs that may be of interest to genre fans. Air dates and times subject to change without notice.
Three more sci fi and fantasy shows join the schedule this week as we start prepping for the Spring line up. On Wednesday, FX’s mockumentary comedy series What We Do in the Shadows, based on the 2014 film of the same name, has its debut (see the trailer below). And over on Syfy, Happy! returns for its second season on the same night. Then on Friday, Netflix’s zombie-dramedy Santa Clarita Diet has its third season premiere with all episodes being available for streaming that day. Also, on Monday, AMC’s Into the Badlands has its timeslot premiere after kicking off the second half of its third (and final) season after The Walking Dead on Sunday. On the broadcast networks, several shows are in repeats or preempted as those channels try to stretch out the schedule for an April / May wrap up. The Spring months will be bringing more sci fi and fantasy shows as well as quite a number of season finales and you can get a preliminary look at that at this link.
